This image evokes the bleak dystopian future of motion pictures Bladerunner and The Matrix. What is The Bold Spirit?
Bold Spirit Ltd, UK is actually a financial management company for distressed property assets and Investments. I have no problem with that. A bit of the ordinary is a welcome contrast to events of the moment:
- U.S. Air Force officers to meet with Congressional representatives at National Press Club in Washington D.C. for lunch today. The sole agenda item is a discussion of the possible threat to national security due to a recent barrage of unidentified objects observed in or near the vicinity of military installations. In fact, sitings of such activity were reported by not one, but three U.S. Air Force bases, all located in the continental U.S.A. In my very own State of Arizona, there were numerous reports of unidentified flying objects south of Tucson on September 22-23, 2010. We will need to differentiate between two varieties of illegal aliens: Mexican and extra-terrestrial.
- Stuxnet, the disturbingly focused internet security threat, has returned. It targets SCADA-type industrial control systems. Iran reported a Stuxnet attack on a nuclear power plant yesterday the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/27/technology/27virus.html Iran has nuclear power? Who knew? I didn’t. Well, actually, Krebs-on-Security was amongst the first to note the debut of Stuxnet in June. Brian Krebs and several other security experts reported that Germany’s Siemens Corp was surreptitiously involved in unsavory contract work for Iran. Nuclear-powered facilities would have very likely been in violation of U.N. sanctions. And Krebs-on-Security and his information security-savvy comment crew were 100% correct about Stuxnet’s exclusively control-systems orientation.
- The U.S. economic stimulus bill that so successfully funded job creation is approaching its scheduled end date in a few weeks. The outlook isn’t good for our unemployment rate….
